Kubernetes the Hard Way — CranoakLabs Edition
The core theme of CranoakLabs is Kubernetes the Hard Way, expanded across multiple platforms:
- AWS (EKS + EC2)
- Azure (AKS)
- On‑prem (RKE, k3s)
The goal is to build Kubernetes from the ground up — no shortcuts — and then layer in real‑world cloud integrations.
What You’ll Learn
- Build Kubernetes on EC2 using Terraform
- Add AWS‑specific integrations:
- EFS/NFS
- Secrets Management
- ALB/NLB Controller
- Use Cilium as the CNI
- Run kube‑bench for CIS scanning
- Deploy SUSE Rancher
- Integrate Entra ID or Okta for developer access
This is the foundation for everything else in CranoakLabs.
